Elizabeth Coleman is an accomplished corporate attorney and business executive with deep expertise across the energy, retail, entertainment, and sports industries. She began her legal career in the global energy sector, holding key roles in Legal and Corporate Compliance at GE Oil & Gas, BP, and Exterran—where she advised on international regulatory matters and complex cross-border operations.
Over the course of her career, Elizabeth has brought her corporate, compliance, and governance acumen to Fortune 500 companies, major sports organizations, and high-profile public figures, including top-tier athletes, entertainers, and influencers. She is an internationally recognized industry expert in business and ethics law who was recently featured in the PBS series "Viewpoints" with Dennis Quad highlighting her transformational work in youth sports.
Background
Following her tenure in energy, Elizabeth transitioned to the fashion and beauty sectors, serving as Director and Senior Counsel for JCPenney and Sephora. In these roles, she led business operations, including celebrity partnerships, sustainability initiatives, compliance programs, and corporate ethics strategies. She then joined Target’s legal affairs team as Director of Corporate Governance, where she advised the CEO and board of directors on enterprise legal, compliance, and risk issues.

Elizabeth later moved into the sports industry, serving as Chief Compliance Officer, Deputy General Counsel, and Senior Vice President for Varsity Brands, where she oversaw all legal, compliance, and enterprise risk functions and played a pivotal role in the due diligence leading to the company’s multibillion-dollar sale.

Now in private practice, Elizabeth represents top professional athletes, including advising on the $20 million sale of a food and beverage company, and has negotiated agency, NIL, and brand partnership deals on behalf of first-round draft picks and elite college athletes. Her client base also includes musicians, actors, and digital creators, for whom she secures strategic brand partnerships through her extensive relationships in the retail and entertainment sectors.
